CHRISTMAS!!!!

LOVED IT. NUFF SAID!

the kids opened their stockings and Santa presents and then we ate breakfast.  I'm all about making Christmas last as long as possible.
 back to gift opening.

when did she grow up and when did neon come back in style.  And why?

Ryan and I agreed to not get anything this year.  So I stuck to that.  He didn't.  I felt like a jerk.  A jerk with great gifts.  He gave me the bike trailer in the above pictures, 2 months at cross fit (I'm scared) and
this ceramic dutch oven.  Actually I bought it and waited in line on Thanksgiving.  I LOVE it.  I cooked this roast on Christmas and it was the most moist and tender roast, we were cutting it with butter knives.
Christmas evening is spent with my family.  We had a delicious dinner ^^^^^
Grandpa never disappoints, nerf guns and knives.

Christmas Eve

we returned from las Vegas on Sunday the 23rd so that meant on the 24th, I had some last minute errand running as it was storming.  But I was by myself and as a mother, that was all worth it for some alone time.
Abbey and Charlotte delivering neighbor gifts.
We spend Christmas Eve with the Brown's and the kids always act out the nativity.  And it never gets old, just stays cute.  Aiden made her debut as baby Jesus, although she could have also passed as an angel because she is a perfect one :) Abbey was Mary and their cousin Gavin was Joseph.  Charlotte was an angel, I think Brody was a Shepard and Cloe a wise man.
The kids had fun getting up and singing Christmas songs and we also played minute to win it games.

2 am, finally done, time for bed.  Cloe saw this picture on my camera and asked if Santa was real.  oops.

December 24th

Vegas

Ryan was asked to participate in the World of Art Showcase at the Wynn in Las Vegas.  We like to take one of our kids with us so we can get one on one time with them, this trip was Cloe's turn.

Checking into the hotel.  I love how cheery all the lights, colorful tile and flowers are
Ryan setting up his booth.
Ryan did a portrait demo and had Cloe as his model
Ryans mom has not been able to make it to Ryan's art events because she is usually watching our kids so this time she drove down the other 3 kids to come support Ryan.
While he painted Cloe, I took the other four kids on the strip to see some of the hotel. tiring! I guess I just wanted to confirm to myself how non kid friendly Vegas is.
 the Venetian
I think this is Treasure Island, they liked the motorcycle.
outside of the wax museum.  Kids are free! (with a paying adult, admission $25!)

 enjoying the fancy tub.
It was a lot colder in Vegas than I thought it would be but still warm enough to swim in a heated pool. Thank goodness they had a good pool because this is where we spent most of our time.

I wanted to show the kids the fountains at the Bellagio.  So I ventured out with Ryan's mom and the kids.  We drove all the way down to the opposite end of the strip because Subway was having a $2 sandwich promotion.  When we got to the Subway (that I called in advance and was told "yes" about participating) they said "no, it ended yesterday" wtf! So we ate over priced Del Taco.  I hate going places that have over priced fast food, so lame.  We went in the M&M store and walked to the Bellagio.  MUCH further than I thought it would be!  The kids really got to experience the strip. I had to keep their eyes distracted from flyers and all the little side shows.  And ended up explaining to them that this is also called Sin City and why.  After the fountain show they all wanted to get back to the room and off the strip.
nice sunset from the parking garage.
 our room
 more swimming.

driving home.  Utah sure is a beautiful state!

Christmas Sunday best

I can't get enough of Aiden's hair! I can't believe I actually got a blondie.

amazing

I've always been of the opinion that a good view over the kitchen sink is a must.  It makes doing the dishes much more enjoyable.
