in the mean time

so as we sit around and wait for "the call" I am totally thrown off schedule. I feel like all I do is wait. But we did get "the call" and we should be leaving friday. AND we should only have one layover!! That would be awesome. Also because it means a bigger plane. Since I have the extra time now, I think I might just head into the city tomorrow and check out the sales. No, I have not had time to do it yet and it's killing me. I know a lot of it will be picked over. I'm sure Ryan will appreciate that.
A thought I had today, "get me outta this hell hole". The reason, It is so blessed hot that a breeze does not even help. While I was walking to the bus stop and then waiting at the bus stop then stepping into the sauna (bus) and then doing it all over to come home, my thought after that one was "i can't wait to drive my suburban with the a/c and walk a max of 25 yards in the heat!" No offense to you summer travelers but you are coming at THE WORST time of year. It's miserable heat!

Don't you hate it when you remember something when it is too late? Background: at the grocery store we have a card that gives us the sale price, like all stores these days, and it also gives you points for buying certain products. With these points you can pick items out of a catalogue. I have been eyeing the cannon powershot and have been asking Ryan if I could use our points on it. It's 3000 points plus 69 euro. We have over 4000 points. My reason is that all we have is his big old fancy camera for painting and there is nothing more annoying that photographing the kids at the park and bringing this along. So I was stoked when I found it in the catalogue. Tuesday I went to the store and asked if I could have the camera that day (you'd be impressed with how my italian has improved), he said no, it takes 3 days. So I didn't get it because I was planning on flying out today. But when i found out we were leaving friday, the smart thing would have been to go to the store and order it for our trip and have it in time. Nope, I remembered at 9:25, 5 minutes before the store closed. Yes, the grocery store closes at 9:30! could you imagine! uuuugh, I'm kicking myself!
