the joy of knowing your child is following in your footsteps

This afternoon my mom said she was going jogging so I handed her my ipod. Then she came back in and said "cloe wants to go, so I don't need this" and we gave each other a look like, "oh yeah, this should be a GREAT workout, I'll finish the run when I bring her back". When they finished they buzzed the building door and I let them in and I could hear them coming up the stairs. Cloe beat my mom by a flight and they were both red faced. My mom was exhausted and said Cloe ran for 20 minutes and much faster than my mom liked to go. I've always underestimated this little powerhouse and taken her on short little jogs after I finished mine. Oh the excitement! YES! In a couple years i will have a race partner for the 5k's I like to run! Heck there is Olympic possibilities and a chance to make millions off my child!! Finally she can pull her own weight around here and help out with the finances.

It's always a good idea to exploit the talents of your children.

Seriously, though- how cool that she likes to run already!
