Now the pictures from the birthday

The birthday queen. If you look closely, you can see a little crown on her head (it's on the wall) a little trick photography hehehe

For my moms B-day she wanted to go to the Pitti Palace. While there we went in the Boboli Gardens, the Apartments in the Palace and The Modern Art Gallery in the Palace. What I loved about the Modern Art Gallery is that in Florence modern art is considered paintings done in the 19th century. None of this post modern crap with paint splattered and a 2 page description of what the painting "means". And then it is labeled as "art". whoo, we'll save that for another day :)
But it was just me and my mom and we had a great time and went to lunch at La Galleria Ristorante and had a nice lunch.

This was the most amazing painting. It was huge and a very intense painting. I bought a couple post cards of it because I loved it so much! Come to Florence just to see this painting.

Ooohhhh! I am sooo glad that you share my view on modern art. I took a contemporary art history calss for my major and I hated it because what they were showing me wasn't art: my dog could do a better job! Do you take the kids with you when you go to the art musuems? When I was in Europe we had such a short amount of time everywhere we went we hardly got to see anything:c(
