randomness

I hate going so long with out posting. That little chubba wubba went to her 4 month (4 1/2) check up and is the 90% for weight! More of her to love and I'm all about that. You just can't squeeze a 25% percent baby like you can a 90%. And you should see her thighs! Love em. She brings so much happiness to my day. So glad we have her. And her big sis is pretty amazing too. That girl is so spiritual and I love it because she is such a good example to me. It sounds so cliche' but I'm fo reals yo.

Lately I've realized I want to be a more service oriented person. I have a friend that is just naturally always serving people. I recently noticed it and decided I want to be like her when I grow up. I think it is an important trait to have and it also feels good to serve someone.

another friend with a great site
check it out y'all

On Wednesday, my step dad went in for an MRI because he had had a stiff neck for way too long and it ended up being a tumor. They took him into surgery right away because it was so close to his spine. They had to cut away at his 5th vertebrae to remove it and replaced it with a metal plate. After his surgery, he was recovering in the ICU when his whole body was numb and he was paralyzed. His blood was not clotting and he had a hematoma at the point of the surgery and it was pressing on his spine. They took him in right away. About 8 hours after the surgery, it happened again! Very stressful. After the 3rd surgery he was able to clench his fists and wiggle his toys. phew. The 3rd surgery was Thursday at 5:00 and so far things are looking better. He is still in the ICU with tubes everywhere but I'm trying to be optimistic. Everything happen so suddenly that it makes you realize how precious life is. There isn't time to hold a grudge or waste your time judging others. We need to spend our time serving and uplifting each other.

On a completely opposite note, a friend from church came over today with his tiller and tilled my back yard. I cannot wait to start a garden. This will be my first ever garden and I'm excited to see some food growing in my backyard. I'm growing all the essentials for Ryan's yummy salsa and if all goes well, our Halloween pumpkins will come from our backyard. As long as I can keep my kids out of it!! I really want to get some chickens but I think we have to much concrete in our back yard.

And remember that link I posted about the kbyu video? The guy Arthur Brooks was on 20/20 last week talking about the economy. Pretty cool, eh? And he was actually pretty optimistic.

Oh gosh! How is your mom holding up?! That is so crazy, I hope all is well. I love that you are trying to serve more...I always think about that but it is so hard when I am tired and the kids make me cranky. Charlotte is SOOOOO cute and chunky, I love it. And oh my gosh Cloe is more beautiful everytime I see a new pic. Watch out teenage years :) I miss you. Glad you are well!Keep me posted on Gordon.

Wow, poor Gordon! What totally stressful time that must have been for everyone.

Yay for chubby babies!!

Yay for a garden! I really can't wait to get in a house so I can start one. I've grown herbs or tomatoes in every apartment and house we've ever lived in so it's killing me to not have something set up here. If we don't get into a house soon I'm buying planter boxes. I too want to have chickens. There is something so satisfying about providing your own food. Especially when it tastes better and you know it isn't loaded with chemicals and hormones!

Sorry to hear about Gordon. Your mom must be a wreck! I can't imagine what it would be like to go through that!

Good luck with the garden. We did one last year & I hated it! Weeding SUCKS!! But it was cool when it was time to harvest so I think we will have another garden this year. Probably a little bigger too.

One more thing, we have a brand new baby goat (born 3/26/09) you should bring your kids to see it!!Call me 465-2183
