fun filled week

This past week has been our cities celebration week. Thank goodness because it gave us plenty to do and most of it was free. It started on Saturday with a 5k run and a rodeo that evening. Ryan's mom and sister and her 2 kids came down for the rodeo and I was a little nervous that they would drive all the way down and it would be lame. But it was a pretty good rodeo and the kids had a good time.
Monday the library hosted a Teddy Bear picnic but my kids were still under the weather after the stomach flu had made it's rounds through our house, therefore they weren't very chipper or into it too much.
Tuesday was a skate park competition and because Abbey and Charlotte were still sick and sleeping, my mom took Cloe and Brody over to watch. Cloe and Brody got to ride their scooters on all the ramps before it started so they were pretty stoked about that.
Wednesday was the first night of hte carnival so I took the kids over there and it ended up being the night that all rides were one ticket and tickets were only 50 cents. schweet. I bought 20 tickets and they lasted forever, we ended up getting in the car at 10:15! But it was so fun, Charlotte rode the carousel for the first time and she was very patient while the kids went on all the rides. I think all the flashy lights were pretty stimulating.

Thursday, Ryan played in the 3 on 3 basketball tournament and his team won the championship game undefeated. nice work boys. Friday, Cloe, Brody, Abbey and my mom and I got up early for the hot air balloon launch. It was cool to see so many on the ground being blown up. I was told before hand to get a ticket for the free balloon rides so I got in line early so we wouldn't have to wait long. It was pretty cool and the kids LOVED it.

Then we headed over to the fire station for the fireman's breakfast, Abbey was having major meltdown at this point. We were up late watching Dad play basketball and then I woke her up at 6:15 to watch balloons in the cold, she was done. And our last activity was the children's art festival. They had different crafts and performances. This was right up Cloe's alley and she was in heaven going from one craft booth to the next. Today was the grand parade but I woke up with an insane sinus head ache, oh, and I hate parade's. So it wasn't going to happen under my current condition. What will we do next week!!??
