It was bound to happen

As you know, we ride the bus for free and have barely escaped getting fines from the ATAF (the bus company). Since my mom is here, we have been buying tickets because I would feel bad if she got in trouble. Therefore, we always have tickets. Ryan had 3 in his pocket and one was unused. He punched a used one on the bus by mistake and up popped an "undercover" NARC! And slapped him with a 45 euro fine, no mercy. To make it worse, I had to go pay the ticket for him. I took the walk of shame into ATAF headquarters and debated about saying "grazie" when they gave me my change. I guess the 45 euros makes up for all the free rides we have had in the last 3 1/2 months. But I did apologize for my husbands stupidity in Italian, quite proud of myself for that one. Not sure if the grammar was correct, it's hard to say sentences "correctly" when I'm used to the English sentence structure.
