countdown is on
I am now 39 weeks and 3 days. Not much is happening. Last Thursday at my appointment I was dilated to 3 cm and 60% effaced. But she told me that it doesn't really mean anything since it's not my first pregnancy. Obviously, 4 days later I'm still pregnant. I'm not in a hurry to have the baby, I just don't want to be in the hospital on Halloween. Ryan said it looks like I've "dropped" but I haven't noticed. She is just comfy and cozy and is no hurry to come meet us.
I have a saint of a friend. On Friday, a group of us from church took our kids to the Bean Museum at BYU and she offered to watch my kids so I could get my cleaning done in one day. It was sooo wonderful, and the fact that I knew I was "on the clock", I worked faster and got more done.

Ryan has tried many times to surprise me and usually fails. I don't snoop, I don't try to figure things out, I just find out. It's either by coincidence or he leaves a paper trail and since I clean up all his papers, I can't help but stumble upon something. Well he was finally successful. The other day, he surprised me with a bunch on onsies that he had screened printed "Made in Italy". They are so cute and it was such a fun idea. I was very surprised and impressed at his creativity.
You know, Made in Italy means good quality.

Hee Haws
This is one of my favorite things to do in October. I was so sad last year to not be able to take the kids to Hee Haws, but then again, they did go to Disneyland instead. We met up with Ryan's brother and family and I bribed the kids all day about losing their privilege to go to Hee Haws. It worked. The kids had a lot of fun and it's always nice to be able to just sit back and watch them enjoy themselves. We didn't get all the pictures we should have because I ended up needing to sit down and happend to have the camera. So while Ryan took them to the corn cannons and "haunted house", I had the camera.
this slide was a big hit!
Cloe on the Animal Train. There are about 7 of these in a train and they are pulled by a tractor.
Always love a pony ride
Oh, the petting area. nasty! But the kids loved it and were excited to hold a chicken. Thank goodness the pigs were too hard to catch.
and I'm still pregnant. I have a list of things to do before the baby can come and Hee Haws was one of them.

Pumpkin pickin'
We have a cute little pumpkin patch by our house that we like to go to and pick our own pumpkins. The kids seemed to have more fun climbing all over the hay rather than roaming the patch for the perfect pumpkin. I love Fall. I so missed these types of things while we were living in Italy.
Giving Brody some shears made me very nervous.

Such a Beauty
I've wanted one of these for years and now I've finally made the switch. When we moved to Italy, I got rid of our old vacuum in hopes of buying a Dyson when we got home. But I did have good reason to get rid of it, it didn't suck. We bought it when we were first married and it was a dirt devil that was like $70. She served her time well but recently had lost her desire to serve. Now I have one that should never stop serving because it nev'ah looses suction.
I got a wonderful tip from my mother-in-law that I have to pass along. She told me to wait until she got a 30% off coupon from Kohl's (when you have a credit card there, they send you coupons all the time) and then when the Dyson's go on sale, use the coupon. SO, mine was originally $549.99 and it was on sale for $449.99. THEN with the 30% off coupon it ended up costing$335.62 with tax!!! How can I not pass along such a great idea. I need to shop Kohl's more often.

South Ridge Farms
Brody checking out all the pumpkins
Abbey's preschool went on a field trip down to the Red Barn. One of the things I love about her teacher is that they go on field trips once a month. It was fun to finally do something Fallish. We went on a hayride through the apple and peach orchards and then to the pumpkin patch. They let the kids get out for a while and wander through all the pumpkins. On our way back to the barn, we stopped at one of the apple orchards and they let everyone pick apples. They were so delicious, I'd never had an apple right off the tree. It could have been mental, but it seemed to taste so much better than from the store. We got back to the barn and they gave out apple cider donuts. So fun! Wish Cloe could have been able to come!

I feel like I've been kicked in the crotch. aka 36 weeks
Still plugging along. A solid nights sleep has become a thing of the past. I either need to tinkle or just have to adjust. It takes so much effort to switch sides. I hate maternity pants. For some reason they don't stay up well on me. I'm not too exhausted but I wouldn't mind doing nothing all day. And I try to avoid the store, especially with kids. It requires too much effort these days. I haven't been in much pain. My sister studies herbs and recommended some that have really helped. Hypnobirthing is going good, I'm just worried about staying focused once the contractions really hit. Ryan hasn't gone to one yet with me so no "vaginal" giggling. Still no name set in stone. It was Charlotte for most of my pregnancy but I've changed my mind.
I don't seem to have much of an appetite. A lot of foods make me sick. The last 2 nights for dinner have been rice as the main course and then whatever else we have to add to it. Hopefully Ryan will take over with the cooking soon.
