This little lady is justa growing. I remember when she was a newborn and thinking I didn't want her to grow up. now I wouldn't want her to be a newborn, I love her at each different age even more. This age right now is so fun for me. And I'm sure the next stage will be even more fun.
I found a tooth this month!!! It made me sad when I felt it, it just meant that she was growing up. She also recently started lying on her back and holding her toy "block". Before, she could kind of just play with it but now she can hold it and keep it, so cute. And don't get me started on the toe grabbing, love it! My good friend has a baby just a little older and when she blogged about her little guy grabbing his toys, I about melted. It is just so cute to me for some reason.

the aquarium
Last week was the kids spring break. It snowed 2 of the 5 days! Not cool. So besides going to see the baby goat, we also went to the Living Planet Aquarium with my little sister. I really wanted to go out of town but Ryan had things going on so we couldn't. The aquarium was pretty cool, don't know if I would run back any time soon but the kids enjoyed themselves. It was funny how much Charlotte loved to stare in the fish tanks. Brody loved to pet and most of the time, try to pet the stingrays. His arm wasn't quite long enough.

ANOTHER biggest loser
If you can't tell, I love participating in these, they help me so much with motivation. Well, my friend is starting another one at the beginning of May and it will run 10 weeks. I'm not sure what the cost is, either $10 or $15 will have to be paid to the pot. I'm going to win this one ;)
If your interested, leave a comment and I'll give you more info as I get it.

down on the Mobbs "farm"
My friend Jenn has a goat that just had a cute little baby. She told me to bring the kids down to see it and I'm glad I did. It is always wonderful to sit and chat with my old buddy but the kids absolutely loved her property. There was so much for them to do and Brody was able to do all kinds of boy stuff while the girls enjoyed chasing the baby goat, Tiffany. They also had 2 chickens and some baby chicks and plenty of mature fruit trees. I was ready to move in.
Brody and Boston became instant friends. This is an old gutted Bronco that was cool to play in.
I let Cloe have the camera and take pictures of Tiffany

this weeks happs
Cloe and Brody had Spirit week. The only photo worthy days were crazy hair day and decade day. When costume like days or events come up, I realize I need to save more crap. Cloe was a hippie and Brody was an 80's break dancer in his addidas suit. Since he had already done a hack job on his hair, we didn't have a lot of options for crazy hair day. But Dad had an idea and shaved, with a razor into a mohawk.
Abbey's class had a little easter egg hunt. It's hard to photograph kids doing egg hunts. They move to fast
This little bundle of joy is 5 months! But I love every stage. I would not want her to be a little newborn again. She has such a fun personality and is so much more fun now.
And my other little babies are beginning their long journey. Grow little seeds. I can't wait for my kitchen to have little sprouts, it will seem so fresh and oxygenated in there as we exchange gasses.

Brody the not so Barber
Brody needed a haircut. He has such an annoying cowlick that I was planning on just shaving it rather than having it look like the teeth of a saw for bangs. So the other day he asked if he could cut his care. Hey, at least he asked first! And I told him, go ahead just keep the hair in the sink. But when it came to the back, he needed some help from Cloe. We ended up shaving it with just the buzzers and no attachment because of his chop job.

spring cleaning
Have you even started? Have you even started thinking about it?
I haven't started but I figured I should start thinking about it. Hey, it's a start. Such an overwhelming thought, but oh so rewarding when it's done! And I can't wait until the rain let's up so I can "spring clean" my car. snow and muddy boots do wonders for upholstery, thank goodness for leather.
Maybe today I'll turn my thoughts into a list.

is it the weather?
I feel like I have so many things to be excited about right now. I just got my seeds in the mail yesterday and I can't wait to get them started. I'm trying out the Heirloom seeds this year, I just have to remember to save seeds from my harvest so I can replant them next year. And I ordered more than I have room for. My mom was nice enough to take the pumpkin seeds for me because those would end up taking up our whole little plot. In front of our house is maintained by the HOA and i"m tempted to plant some things there but I worry about them being pulled out by the Gardner's. Not so much worried about food being stolen but being destroyed by the kids playing out front? yes.
I have my kids Easter Sunday outfits all figured out. So excited about that. I love buying outfits for my kids at Christmas time and Easter! I went to the store to buy Brody a button up church shirt and he wanted a suit.
"Mom, I need one of these (the jacket) and some black pants for it too. Like what you wear when you get married."
so I let him try on the jacket and of course he looked like such a cute little man.
me: "you like that?"
brody: "yes, now I look like a gentleman."
As cute and gentleman-like as he looked, I didn't buy it for him.
I'm pretty much just excited to be out doors. And to be tending to a little garden. I predict many more gardening posts to come. Hopefully there won't be one about the death of my garden. I don't have the best reputation for keeping plants alive.
And for an update on my step Dad, he has been transferred to SLC to the Huntsman Cancer Center/ U of U. They took him up there on Friday and he ended up needing another emergency surgery because of a hematoma, his 3rd! He hates being there and is feeling depressed. He was paralyzed again before the surgery but recovered back to where he was and still doing physical therapy. Did I tell you that it was cancer? It is stage 3 bone cancer. Tomorrow they meet with the doctors to make dessions about chemo and what not. I don't have all the facts right because my information is second hand but if he does chemo (which he doesn't want to do) he should be 100% by Christmas and then live 5-8 years. If he doesn't, I can't imagine him being able to ever leave the hospital because of the hematoma problem that is caused by the cancer. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

victory gardening
I love to read this blog as I get inspired and ready for my first garden. But I thought this particular post was good and I wanted to share it.
Most of us were not around when the term “Victory Garden” was a household word. With food rationing in World War II, 20 million American families answered the call of the government to support the war effort by planting gardens in their backyards, empty lots, and even roof tops of city buildings. It’s estimated that these gardens produced 40% of the vegetables consumed during the war, stretching the food supply to feed the troops.
We are in a war now and we need Victory Gardens as much as we did in the 1940’s. Our battles are not fought in the islands of the Pacific or the fields of Europe but around the entire world and in particular across the United States and in our homes. I am not talking about battles of bullets, but epidemics of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and other nutrition related illnesses. Our children turn their noses up at vegetables and vegetate in front of television, MySpace, and video games. Self-centeredness breeds isolation as we ignore our neighbors in our daily pursuits. Our degradation of the environment spawns air, soil, and water pollution. Depletion of fossil fuels and water tables threaten our food supplies. Biodiversity is sacrificed to monoculture food production. Our taste buds are assaulted by tasteless factory food.
Imagine if you will, shooting the riding lawn mower and replacing the checkerboard mowed lawn around the house with a fruit, vegetable, and flower garden. If everyone did this, imagine the impact on our world. The exercise of gardening and eating the resulting fruits and vegetables would dramatically improve our health. Our children’s minds and bodies would be stimulated and strengthened. We would gain lifelong friends as we exchange ideas with our neighbors over the garden fence. Instead of burning 10 calories of fossil fuels in producing, processing, and transporting every calorie of food we eat, we’d conserve our natural resources as we burn our fat calories in producing our own food. As we intensively manage our multi-cropped gardens, we’d increase biodiversity and avoid polluting the air, soil, and water. Instead of corrupting our palettes with tasteless uniform hybrid vegetables, we’d savor the flavors, colors, textures, variety, and nutrition of heirloom vegetables. Through Victory Gardens, we win all of these battles and make the world a better place for our families. Sow the seeds of Victory! Now is a great time to plan to plant & raise your own vegetables this summer. Grow a Victory Garden. Anyone and everyone can and should do it!
